OUR STORY
Small studio. One puzzle at a time.
Guessoword started in February 2022 as a simple idea: word games shouldn't take five minutes to load or ask for an account before you've had any fun. The following month we launched Sixordle — a game that asks you to solve six five-letter words at once, using the same rules you already know, just six boards deep.
Thousands of people still come back to solve Sixordle every day. We're a small, independent word-games studio — no investors, no growth hacks, just puzzles built to be worth the few minutes they take.
How Sixordle came about
The idea started from a simple frustration: single-board word-guessing games are great for five minutes, but they're solved quickly once you know the format. Stacking six boards into one puzzle, sharing a single pool of guesses across all of them, turned out to need a genuinely different kind of thinking — closer to juggling six small logic puzzles than repeating one. That tension between "the rules you already know" and "a much harder problem" is what we kept refining after the first version shipped in March 2022.
A short timeline
- FEB 2022 Guessoword founded. Started as a side project with one goal: no clutter between a player and a puzzle.
- MAR 2022 Sixordle launches. The six-boards-at-once format goes live as the studio's first full game.
- SINCE 100,000+ players. Growth has come almost entirely from players sharing the game directly, without paid acquisition.
- TODAY Still independent. One small team, a daily puzzle, and no plans to bolt on accounts or a subscription tier.
What we believe about word games
A good daily puzzle should respect the few minutes someone gives it. That means fast load times, no forced sign-in, and rules that are easy to learn but leave real room to get better at — which is why Sixordle keeps the exact tile logic players already know from single-board games, rather than inventing a new mechanic to learn from scratch. If you're new to the format, the How to Play guide walks through the rules end to end, and the Strategy page covers starter words and how to manage six boards without losing track of any of them.

If the game has been a part of your life for a while and is valuable in your eyes, buy us a coffee! Add your name in the donation note and we'll create a credits page sometime.
